MicroMist Systems first became involved in Gas Turbine Inlet Air Cooling in 1991 with the installation of atomizing nozzle tubing on a 25 MW Westinghouse 251. Since then, we have continued to develop fog technology with great success. Today's MicroMist fog system is based on the proven MX8 internally-atomizing nozzle, designed to atomize water to an average diameter of 19 µ at 1500 PSI, with a trajectory optimized for high-velocity air streams. Such a design has proven to be perfect for reducing air temperatures in GT inlets, which creates the capacity for significantly increased turbine load. The MicroMist fog system is also used successfully to pre-cool Air Cooled Condensers, thereby improving overall plant efficieny.
